Cabin Revamp / Truro, MA

This cabin was once shrouded with trees till we brought it into the sunlight and gave it a brand new feel and look.

Facing west with sweeping views of Great Island and breathtaking sunsets, it was vital that we bring the magic of Wellfleet dusk inside. One of our favorite features of this home is an interior transom window built inside of the bathroom shower, for private viewings of Wellfleet’s brilliant sunsets.

The property boasts a custom state of the art kitchen, meticulously designed built-ins, and a signature widow’s walk that mirrors the regal design of its sophisticated older sister.

A new build from the ground up, situated on a sloping property,  “Valhalla” posed a unique design challenge. We achieved this replication while working around the natural features of the property that the family wished to preserve. Strategic planning and complex engineering made a postless, cantilever floating deck possible, through a custom steel beam support system, running through the centerline of the home. The deck entry was carefully designed around an old oak tree that served as a landmark of the family’s history.

Take a look at how buried this house was with only a walking path up to it from where their

parking spots were. It was inconvenient and in desperate need to be changed so

the homeowners could have the house of their dreams

There are so many little details in this home that we changed according to the wants of the client. The new space is open with windows all around that open up to a yard for their dog and decks to overlook it
